The Somersworth Association of Educators, with support from NEA and NEA-NH, won an impressive victory, defeating a tax cap ballot question on November 4. SAE President Paula Turgeon and her members organized their community and soundly defeated the measure. NEA-NH opposes tax caps because they are harmful to public schools. They limit a town’s ability to provide education and other essential services, like fire and police protection and maintenance of infrastructure. In the photo are community members who worked to defeat Article III on the Somersworth ballot.
