New Hampshire Institute of Art

The Director of the MA in Art Education at the New Hampshire Institute of Art is seeking art education adjunct faculty to design and teach an online course in the Fall 2013 semester. 

 

Course Description:

 

MAE604 Graduate Seminar in Art Education: Digital Methodologies, 1.5 credits

Teachers will learn how various forms of social media and simple technologies can be used to facilitate and accelerate learning. An analysis of contemporary artists working in digital media and art educators implementing digital strategies and related pedagogy will provide educators with a spectrum of approaches and techniques for utilizing digital methodologies in their classrooms.  Students will gain experience by implementing some of these strategies through lesson and unit development.

 

Qualifications:

 

An applicant to the position must have:

* A graduate level degree or higher

* K-12 teaching experience in Art Education or a closely related field

* Significant technological experience, including and not limited to Word, Excel, Powerpoint/Keynote, Photoshop, Illustrator, social media tools, research databases (for example: Ebsco & Artstor), Google Art Project, etc...

 

 

Preference will be given to applicants who have:

* Online teaching experience

* Higher education teaching experience

* A CAGS certificate or PhD

* An understanding of contemporary artists and art forms

* An understanding of UBD curriculum

* An understanding of contemporary educational theory

 

Compensation:

 

The MA in Art Education will provide a $1500 stipend for designing the course in the online software, training will be provided.  Additionally, the course will pay $3000 to teach the course in the Fall 2013 semester: approximately 5-6 hours per week over 15 weeks.  Exceptional candidates will be offered contracts in future semesters.
