NEA's
Read Across America 2010

NEA's
Read Across America was created in 1998 to encourage children
to read daily. Celebrated on March 2, Dr. Seuss's birthday,
special events raise awareness about the importance of parents
reading with their children. Older children are reminded to
read independently for pleasure as well as for schoolwork.
It's
our tradition to celebrate Read Across America in New Hampshire
with a program at the State House, in which two fourth-graders
represent each Senate district. This year's event will occur
on Wednesday, March 3.
Find out about year-round
reading activities and instructional tools at NEA's
Web page. While you are there, pledge
to participate so schools and organizations can learn
from your ideas. Get
stickers for your students (public schools and partners
only, please) by printing and completing an order form. Fax
the form to Lonnie Bean at 603-224-2648, or e-mail the information
specified to
him.
Note: Stickers are provided only to New Hampshire addresses.
